about
Aman Mehta is an Indian designer working between Mumbai and Milan. Trained as an architect, he went on to complete a Masters in Product and Furniture Design in Milan, where he now lives and works. The practice, 'by aman', sits at the intersection of two worlds: the deep craft heritage of India and the rigour of European design thinking.
His work begins with a question, "what does an object remember?" Each piece in the studio's collection is rooted in a specific cultural moment, material tradition, or act of making that risks being forgotten. Through the language of sculptural furniture, these histories are given new form, objects that belong entirely to the future, yet carry the quiet memory of the past.
